Leadership and Aims of Catholic Education

Description

This course will provide students with an opportunity to explore, discuss, and reflect on some of the seminal ideas of leadership and aims of Catholic education, and their relationship to the concepts presented in various Church documents. Also, the course will lead students to examine contemporary teaching and learning practices in a Catholic educational environment; and analyze current concepts of Catholic educational thrusts emerging from the philosophical foundations with the opportunity to reflect upon and extend one’s personal conception of Catholic education. The course will emphasize both theoretical and practical. Through discussions, critical analysis, and reflection, students will have a deeper understanding and appreciation of Catholic education as an integral process of human formation.
